Kin Mining believes recent drill results from its pre-development Cardinia gold project near Leonora “continue to highlight the potential to identify strong zones of new mineralisation” (reports MiningNews).
While assays reported today weren't exactly headline grabbers - 7m at 2.44 grams per tonne from 117m - the company said the RC drilling confirmed continuity of shallow mineralisation over a 500m strike, with results from both this RC work and other aircore testing expected over coming weeks.
The results to date have "reinforced our belief that Cardinia is a significantly mineralised area, worthy of considerable additional drilling and exploration in the coming months".
Cardinio has been on the development cards for a few years, with Kin to ensure the project is more robust than previously looked the case.
Construction of an operation was curtailed after three months of work in 2018.
Back then the mining of 22 pits containing reserves of 373,000 ounce (at an average grade of 1.5gpt), had been on the drawing board.
