Emerging gold producer Dacian Gold is maintaining an “aggressive exploration spend” after intersecting gold in reconnaissance drilling at the Cameron Well discovery within its Mt Morgans gold project in Western Australia (MiningNews reports).

The best intersection was 2.3m at 311.3gpt gold from 140m and executive chairman Rohan Williams said Cameron Well was a “potential game-changer,” with the potential to be Mt Morgans’ third major gold system.

“The fact that all six of our initial diamond holes drilled into the first bedrock target have intersected gold mineralisation is a fantastic result so early into our exploration campaign,” he said.

Dacian says it is eight months from production at its project near Laverton, which has an initial ore reserve of 1.2 million ounces.

Cameron Well is 9km north-west of the new 2.5 million tonne per annum CIL treatment plant that is under construction.
